The Tower of London, situated on the banks of the River Thames in London, was once the royal residence of the infamous Tudor monarch, King Henry VIII. Over its storied history, the fortress served as a prison and witnessed 900 years of British history, ranging from the macabre and dramatic to the romantic.

Today, it stands as a popular tourist destination, with most visitors crossing the dry moat and passing through the gated archway during daylight hours, clutching tickets for a glimpse of the Crown Jewels or the Tower’s renowned ravens.

And a 23 year old made it her home for 3 years

The 23-year-old who spent three years living in the Tower of London

In 2021, Megan Clawson found herself strolling back home after a night of revelry, a sudden urge compelling her to capture a moment on her smartphone.

With wide-eyed amusement, she spoke to the camera, “Can you believe that Henry VIII used to return home in this state, just like I am now?” Her laughter filled the air.

Turning her phone around, Clawson revealed the object of her fascination: the formidable stone turrets of the Tower of London, bathed in an eerie darkness.

Later, she shared the video on TikTok with the caption, “Walking on these cobblestones is challenging when sober, but when you’re tipsy, it’s a full-blown Olympic event,” Clawson quipped.
